Culturally Sustaining Mentorship
The HTH Consortium believes that one of the ways to ensure the success and longevity of its new residency program is to support all Cooperating Teachers (CTs) in becoming fluent in culturally sustaining mentorship practices -- including, but not limited to, tools from Zaretta Hammond’s Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain resource and Elena Aguilar’s Coaching for Equity and Onward framework. The funding offered via the capacity grant will support HTH in partnering with the High Tech High Graduate School of Education (HTHGSE) to develop an extensive new sequence of professional learning for CTs which will support teacher residents and their CTs in forming productive learning partnerships across lines of difference.
